White Man's Burden is seen in Malaya through the incident of JWW Birch and in Sungei Ujong, where the British try to civilise the people by removing or asking the Malay Sultans to stop the 'backward' practise of slavery and corruption.
In Sungei Ujong, the British asked the Malay Sultans to stop the unfair treatment of overtaxing the Chinese.
In Perak, JWW Birch was murdered as a result of trying to clean up corruption among the Malay Sultans.
